This was a lovely story! I liked the third person limited narration you took. Following just Credence’s thoughts gave it a certain feel. It was a bit bitter sweet, and while I can’t say I enjoyed one of my favorite characters being thrown in Azkaban(but I mean, one of my other favourites was in the real series, sooo), I did enjoy the story.

I first clicked on this story just see what it was all about, but now I am so happy that I did! I have been reading through some of your other stories and found that your writing is just captavating. So of course, I just randomly clicked on your next story not realizing I was just about to read another diamond in a dozen (or maybe a few dozen) story. You cannot find writing, storytelling, characterization, and an overall thought-out and realistic plot, in practically any fics anywhere. And that is what makes your work incredibly appealing because you take the time to perfect these aspects.
Anyway, I really enjoyed this perspective on this “what if” idea of how a human being (in both Newt’s and Credence’s point of views) would have reacted to what had happened to them. Like you said, people don’t, and can’t, just walk away from getting electrocuted for that long without any repercussions. Likewise with Credence’s situation. They way you write Credence feels very fitting to how people can react from years of abuse and (and in his situation) brainwashing. It all just made sense even though it was not “happy” or “fluffy”, as you said, but it was realistic and very life-like. Something I genuinely appreciate in any story. Too much fluff and sunshine, and it takes away the whole reason for the plot (gosh, I sound inhuman... oops).
To finally end this absurdly long review/comment, thank you for sharing this wonderful story and all the others you have posted so far. I really do injoy your writing style and stories in general and hope you continue to fill your profile with more! Thank you again.

Well, it wasn't a depressing ending. Seeing as how the story is through Credence's eyes and he finally gets some peace despite all the terrible, awful things that have happened to him, it was very gratifying to see him finally feel like he could move forward. It did make me sad to see how things ended, and especially to see the group split up. Credence's thought that it was like broken glass really struck me and made my heart clench. It's so, so sad to see siblings split up like this. But it could be worse, and Theseus is right that Tina is so good for Newt.
Overall the story has a tone that I wasn't expecting, with the war and the imprisonment and the exile... it's very dark, darker than anything else of yours that I've read in my recent Neocolai binge, lol. I love your writing style, and I love what you did with it, and it's SO GOOD and well done. That being said, I will happily read something more upbeat by you after this. LOL.
Thanks for the ride, and I'll be sad when I finally finish reading all of your Fantastic Beasts fics. But grateful!

Okay so while the last chapter was mindblowingly heartwrenchingly intense, this chapter was intense in its own ways. Poor Credence, left to suffer alone in prison with his sad thoughts, as though he hadn't had enough of them already. Poor, poor Credence. I'm glad to see that Theseus was not truly turning on his brother - that thought came to mind, but I was too preoccupied by the fact that you were writing your own version of him and thought that maybe he really was that much of a bully in this fic. I'm SO relieved to see him helping, though. Jacob was a bit different here, more assertive, more in control, and I like that. I feel like that's a healthier dynamic for him and Queenie to have, since she has so much leverage over him to begin with as a mind-reader and a magic-user. I love this entire fic and the way you depict the characters. However... I am scared to read the last chapter. Poor Newt...

Uh...
I...
I don't know what to say. This was such an intense chapter that I thought it would be a nightmare sequence multiple times. Even though you wrote Theseus really really well, he's very different in this chapter than in film 2. I like him better in CoW, LOL. Sorry! BUT - I love how well you wrote all of this. The characters, the tone, the fear, the panic... it's all so well done. And that cliffhanger. Oh my fricking holy boy gosh I don't even know what to say. I want to read on, but I'm so scared for poor Newt and Credence.
Congrats on putting in a twist I never, ever, ever saw coming!

Ooh I loved this chapter! A lot of interesting moments and so, so much great Credence perspective. Seeing the way Jacob and Queenie are bonding is a real treat, and the entire interaction between Newt and Credence at the end was a top fave moment so far. Seeing Newt open up to Credence is so sweet, and I can definitely see the way he'd see himself in that boy. Also, until I read the author's note at the bottom it didn't occur to me that you were writing this before seeing the second film. Top congratulations for writing Theseus so much like his film persona! I really enjoy that! Of course he's a bit more protective in the film, but you have elements of that already. The thing I find most amusing about Theseus in the film is that he's supposed to be 9 years older than Newt but he's got baby face and looks even younger. Lol, love it. Great chapter!

Okay, I know I'm dumb sometimes, but I'm laughing at myself right now because when the solution to use Frank came along, I sat here thinking "Okay but... how will 4 people fit on him?" LOL. I forgot about the case for a moment. But wow, what a great solution. I have to compliment you on great writing as always, and the amount of consideration and love that Queenie brings to the table in this fic makes me giddy with joy. I just love love love it so much! Great chapter yet again!

This is a great first chapter. Once again, you've written a "what if" fic, and I'm EXCITED ABOUT IT LOL. This chapter was such a good introduction, too. Credence never gets enough of a perspective, and I really love the way you described his torment. This poor kid has experienced more than any child should ever have to. The kittens, the electrocuted man... no wonder an obscurus grew inside of him... fantastic chapter, and I can't wait to read more!

Wow.
Wow, wow, wow, this is by far one of the most amazing fanfictions I have read in a long time! The way you described Credence' feelings, how it's not easy to move on from the horrible things one has gone through...
God, you had me crying throughout half the story, the reactions, the storyline - everything held this certain element of heartwrenchingly tragic beauty.
The story was incredible, the in-characterness of the characters was astonishing but most of all I absolutely adore your writing style. The way you linked everything together, the way you crafted reoccurring phrases into this beautiful inspiring piece of literature, I absolutely love this fanfiction!
Will check out some of your other works as well now, I can't wait to see what more magic you have cast upon this website ;)
Lots of love and keep being incredible!

Wow, I almost cried, poor Credence, poor Newt...this story had my heart in my throat at times, had my heart constricted in pain. It was wonderfully written. You created such vivid scenes. Marvelously done.

NOOOOOO THE FEELSSO BEAUTIFUL, SO TRAGIC, SO GOOD! I WAS CRYING, OMG! I understand Credence so much on a personal level... I loved the way you described his feelings, it's just how I imagined him feeling the entire movie.
I expected an ending like you described: Credence and Newt at Hogwarts, Jacob and a bakery... but this was so great! It's not the typical Happy Ending shit, but it's not such a bad ending either. It's... realistic.
I reakly loved it, thanks for such a great story :D
